What is the difference between PE80, PE100 and PE100-RC?+
PE80, PE100 and PE100-RC are different grades of HDPE material with different minimum required strength (MRS). PE80 has MRS of 8.0 MPa, PE100 has MRS of 10.0 MPa, and PE100-RC has MRS of 10.0 MPa with improved resistance to crack propagation. PE100-RC offers the best performance for demanding applications.
What is SDR rating?+
SDR (Standard Dimension Ratio) is the ratio of outside diameter to wall thickness. Lower SDR means thicker wall and higher pressure rating. SDR11 has the highest pressure rating (PN16), while SDR33 has the lowest (PN6).
What is the difference between butt fusion and electrofusion?+
Butt fusion welding joins pipes by heating the ends and pressing them together. Electrofusion uses fittings with built-in heating elements. Butt fusion is used for pipes 40mm to 1200mm, while electrofusion is used for fittings and small diameter pipes.
What is the service life of HDPE pipes?+
HDPE pipes have a proven service life of 50+ years for water applications and 50+ years for gas applications when installed and operated correctly. HDPE pipes are immune to corrosion and have excellent chemical resistance.
What standards do REW HDPE pipes comply with?+
