Condensate Entry
Condensate and air enter the steam trap from the steam system. The disc is lifted by the pressure of incoming condensate, allowing discharge.

Condensate Discharge
Condensate flows through the trap and is discharged to the condensate return system. Air and non-condensable gases are also vented.

Steam Arrival
When live steam reaches the trap, it creates a pressure differential that forces the disc against the seat, closing the valve and preventing steam loss.

Steam Trapping
The disc remains closed, trapping live steam in the system while condensate accumulates. This cycle repeats continuously for efficient steam system operation.

Continuous Operation

Body
Primary pressure-containing component. Cast in CI, CS or SS. Houses the disc mechanism and flow passages.
Cover / Cap
Covers the body opening and provides access for disc inspection and maintenance. Bolted or screwed design.
Disc

Seat
